Sanctuary At Admiral Wedding Photography

When you share in one of the biggest days in people’s lives as a wedding photographer, you get to feel like you’ve been friends for ages. In this case, the groom is a personal friend of mine from when I engineered the recordings for one of his previous bands, Layman’s Terms, at Robert Lang Studios, so it was a huge thrill to capture this day for the couple.

The groom is now in a rock band called Kirby Krackle that travels the world doing Comic Con appearances, and this day did have some moments of comedy, but the Sanctuary at Admiral wedding photography also allowed for some sweet and serious moments and shots.

In addition to the Sanctuary which is located in West Seattle, we went on a photo tour that included more points in the neighborhood as well as the industrial Sodo neighborhood for unique Seattle wedding photos. This one says to me: We’re going places, baby.

The park across the street from the event space was also perfect for formal portraits of the couple, bridal party and family. The Sanctuary at Admiral opens up with a beautiful courtyard that is enclosed by wrought iron gates and beautiful landscaping. The building itself brims with art, soaring ceilings and beautiful architectural touches of elegance.

The groom’s band played the reception and he joined in to sing lead vocals on a few songs. He also provided the beer for the party with his Charging Hippo Brewing Co. offerings – another huge hit. The entire event was meticulously coordinated by Megan Keller of A Kurant Event.

From the first shot to the last, it was an honor to share in the fun of my friend’s wedding.
