Backyard Snohomish Wedding Photography

About an hour and a half north of Seattle in Snohomish County is the little town of Sedro-Woolley. It sits on the fertile valley floor at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and is surrounded by quintessential Pacific Northwest beauty.

This wedding rolled the ambiance of a farm wedding in to the intimacy of a backyard wedding in the greater context of an estate wedding. From beginning to end it was perfect. And stunningly beautiful.

As the girls got ready in the converted hayloft of the horse barn, the boys shot clay pigeons on the property while donning their tuxedos. Between the 7 groomsmen and groom, there was a lot of fire power. The bride and her seven gorgeous ladies and their own brand of firepower too.

Multiple John Deer tractors pulled guests in hay wagons from the house across the expansive 2.5 acre meadow to the ceremony location. As the dulcet tones from the string trio filled the air and the last guests assembled, the bride and her father came ambling toward the ceremony site in his cherry red, flawless 1955 Chevrolet 3100 pickup. After a simply sweet ceremony, the bride and groom took off in the pickup to the gardens of the residence and awaited guests in a long receiving line during cocktail hour. The skies had been mostly gray all day, but I noticed some beautiful light peeking through the trees of the meadow right as salads were being served. As short walk, 5 minutes of their time and this gorgeous light. The image was made with my 70-200mm lens so that I could give them some space to just be. It was actually the first moment they’d had since being married not surrounding by 300 guests and it’s clear they were enjoying the opportunity to take each other in.
